Best VWAP Tool for Crypto Trading in 2026
VWAP is the single most important level on any chart if you trade intraday. Volume Weighted Average Price tells you the true average price that all market participants paid, weighted by volume. It is not a moving average. It is not a lagging indicator. It is the definitive answer to the question: where is fair value right now? And yet most crypto tools treat VWAP as an afterthought. A single line on a chart. No session separation. No event detection. No way to scan for VWAP interactions across hundreds of contracts.
I trade VWAP setups almost exclusively. Reclaims, rejections, bounces, and breaks. When price sweeps below VWAP, grabs liquidity, and then reclaims it with volume, that is one of the highest probability long entries in crypto. When price grinds up to VWAP from below and gets rejected with rising short interest, that is a clean short. The setups are there every single session. The problem has always been finding them fast enough across a market with 500+ contracts.
Why One VWAP Is Not Enough
Crypto trades 24 hours a day. There is no opening bell. So when does your VWAP reset? Most tools default to midnight UTC and give you a single daily VWAP line. That is fine for a general reference but it misses the reality that crypto moves in regional sessions. Asian traders, European traders, and American traders enter and exit the market at different times. Each session has its own flow, its own VWAP, and its own average entry price.
EventLogik tracks four separate VWAP sessions simultaneously across every contract:
| Session | Reset Time (UTC) | What It Represents |
|---|---|---|
| Daily | 00:00 UTC | The universal reference VWAP, most widely followed |
| Asia | 00:00 UTC | Asian market session average entry |
| London | 07:00 UTC | European market session average entry |
| New York | 13:30 UTC | US market session average entry |
Why does this matter? Because when I am trading during the London session, the daily VWAP might be sitting way below current price from overnight accumulation. It is not relevant to the current flow. But the London VWAP that reset at 07:00 UTC tells me exactly where European participants entered on average. If price dips to the London VWAP and bounces, that is London money defending their position. That is a different trade with different conviction than a generic daily VWAP bounce.
VWAP Events: Reclaimed, Broke, Bounced, Rejected
Having four VWAPs displayed on a chart is useful but still requires manual interpretation. What makes EventLogik different is that it detects VWAP events automatically and makes them scannable.
Every contract sits in one of three states relative to each VWAP session: above, below, or touching. When price transitions between states, the screener fires an event. There are four event types.
Reclaimed means price crossed back above VWAP. This is bullish. Price was below the average entry and just pushed back above it, meaning sellers are now underwater and buyers have recaptured control. A VWAP reclaim with rising open interest and positive CVD is one of the strongest long signals I know.
Broke means price dropped below VWAP. Bearish. Buyers who entered at the average price are now losing. If this happens with volume it often accelerates because those buyers start cutting their positions.
Bounced means price touched VWAP from above, held, and moved back up. VWAP is acting as support. Institutional flow is defending the level. This is a continuation signal in an uptrend.
Rejected means price touched VWAP from below, failed, and moved back down. VWAP is acting as resistance. This is a short setup when it aligns with bearish break of structure.
All four events exist for all four sessions. That is 16 event fields total, all scannable, all alertable via Telegram.
VWAP Columns Per Session
Beyond the events, each session gives you three data columns per contract. VWAP Dist shows the distance from current price to that session's VWAP as a percentage. Positive means above, negative means below. VWAP State shows the current position: above, below, or touching. VWAP Event shows the most recent event: reclaimed, broke, bounced, or rejected.
Twelve VWAP columns in total across the four sessions. All filterable. All sortable. I can sort the entire table by Daily VWAP Distance descending and immediately see which contracts are furthest extended above their daily VWAP. Those are the ones most likely to pull back. Or I can filter for VWAP State equals touching on the London session and see every contract currently testing the European average entry price. That is my watchlist for the next 15 minutes.
Building a VWAP Reclaim Scanner
The screener comes with six VWAP preset scanners ready to use but I built my own. Here is my go to VWAP reclaim setup.
VWAP Event (Daily) equals reclaimed. Price just crossed above the daily VWAP. This is the trigger condition.
OI Chg 15m % greater than 2. Open interest is growing, which means new positions are being opened. This confirms that the reclaim has fresh money behind it, not just a temporary wick above VWAP.
CVD 5m greater than 0. Cumulative volume delta is positive on the 5 minute window. Active market order flow is net buying. This separates genuine demand from passive limit orders.
Three conditions. When a contract fires all three simultaneously I get a Telegram alert. I pull up the chart, look for a clean entry on the pullback to VWAP, and set my stop below the swing low. The win rate on this scanner has been consistently above 60% over the last month based on the built in performance tracking.
The VWAP Grind Preset
One of the 55 built in presets that I use regularly is the VWAP Grind. It scans for contracts that are structurally grinding above VWAP with low volatility. This is the accumulation phase before a larger move. Price sits quietly above VWAP, not making big swings, just absorbing supply. When these contracts eventually break out of their consolidation the move tends to be clean and sustained because all the selling has been absorbed during the grind.
I pair the VWAP Grind with the Consolidation presets. The Squeeze Breakout preset looks for tight 4 hour ranges followed by a breakout with volume confirmation. When I find a contract that has been grinding above VWAP and then breaks out of a 4 hour consolidation, that is a very high conviction trade.
Session Specific Trading
The four session VWAPs opened up a style of trading I had not considered before. During the New York open I specifically look for contracts where price is reclaiming the NY session VWAP after sweeping Asian session lows. That is a classic reversal pattern. Asia pushes price down, New York steps in and pushes it back above the NY VWAP, and the move runs for the rest of the US session.
I have a separate scanner just for this: VWAP Event (New York) equals reclaimed, combined with BOS 1H equals bullish, and the 15 minute change greater than 0.5%. When all three conditions align during the first hour of the New York session I get an alert. It does not fire often but when it does the setups are clean.
